Big Zendikar Release
«
on:
August 29, 2009, 12:20:34 AM »
Date: Saturday, October 3rd
Time: Noon
Cost:
$25.00
$15.00 (Yes, it is $15.00)
Format: Sealed
In order to get better prize support and more limited product. (ie. From the Vault: Exiled, From the Vault Dragons) We need to hold an event with 40 or more players. This is the event. The Game Vault is going all out with Prize support for this event. The prize support for this event is based on having a minimum of 40 players so please invite friends relatives and pets.
We can only give this support if we get over 40 players!
Prize Support:
All players will receive one booster pack per match win.
Participants will receive a foil promo card while supplies last on a first come, first serve basis.
Additional Prizes
1 Box of Zendikar
Arabian Nights Bazaar of Baghdad (Good Condition)
1 Box From the Vault: Exiled
4 Future Site Tarmogoyf
4 10th edition Pithing Needle
1 Box of Future Site
Promo Foil Signed Beta Art Serra Angel
Promo Foil Beta Art Serra Angel
Foil Morningtide Chameleon Colossus
Foil Morningtide Reveillark
Urza'a Saga Goblin Lackey
Foil Conflux Volcanic Fallout
Foil Legions Akroma, Angel of Wrath
3 Playmats
Additional Prizes to be announced!
All players will receive six packs of Zendikar to construct their best deck. Land may be taken from the store as needed.
Join us for another Release at Game Vault!
We pride ourselves on providing a space for friendly competition with a focus on enjoying the game. I suspect this will be a little more competitive but we have a great group of regulars that should keep things fair and fun. We also offer prize support that extends down to the very last place. We have room to comfortably seat 50 players! Given the prize support you may want to pre-register but don't miss out just because you didn't - call or stop by the day of the event. There will likely be spots available.
We'll do swiss rounds at the standard 50 minutes each.
The number of Swiss +1 rounds is based on attendance according to the following chart:
1-8 = 4 rounds
9-16 = 5 rounds
17 - 32 = 6 rounds
33 - 64 = 7 rounds
However, if we have a clear winner at fewer rounds we will end early. (By round 6 people are getting antsy and wanting food, not another pack of prize support.)
Stick around after the main event for Casual EDH play and Drafting!

I just realized this is the day I fly to Orlando for the VSLive .NET developers' conference. EPIC FAIL.

Eh, I think I'll just chalk it up to "It wasn't meant to be", especially considering that VSLive is the closest thing I get to a vacation all year.
In my stead, I have spread the word to some friends in Roanoke, and it's looking like you may get quite a few folks coming from down there.

I would kiss you but then things would just be awkward. (I think Chuck might be against me kissing other men too.)

Pretty absurd event price AND prize support. I'll put the word out to whoever I can.

I did some links on MTGSalvation, MTG.com and Starcity to get the word out. Not sure how much traffic any of those tournament announcement forums get, but it's worth it to get a few people to show up I think.

It's pretty much just Bill's post verbatim, with a few extra links. Lemme know if you guys want me to change something to them.
I'll talk to Calosso about it next time he's online, so hopefully he'll help get some word out among northern VA/southern MD players.

Thank you everyone. Please sign up to play. I will order more chairs next week. I'll see what I can fit in my budget. I can also rearrange things and rent additional tables and chairs if it looks like we'll have more people than we can accomodate.

Yes it does help.
All you regulars - please sign up so you don't miss out. Also - be on time. We won't be able to hold spots for people who are late.
